Canadian Short Term Disability

Short term disability helps protect your income until you are able to return to work or until you become eligible for long term disability

For Retail Employees

The Canadian Employment Insurance (EI) program provides temporary income support to employees who take time off work for illness, pregnancy and caring for a new child or family member.

For more information on this program, visit https://www.canada.ca/en/employment-social-development/programs/ei.html

You may contact Leave@genesco.com if you need to initiate an STD leave for further instructions.

For Corporate Employees

Genesco and Canada Life are providing 75% income replacement (maximum of $1,490/week) to employees who are temporarily unable to work due their own illness or injury, or to care for a new child or family member.

Contact Leave@genesco.com to initiate a claim.

When you are on an approved leave of absence, Canada Life will pay you 75% of your salary (up to the maximum), which will be taxable, for up to 120 days.
