Pay Options While out on a Leave of Absence
Parental Leave Pay
Employees must be eligible for FMLA in order to receive Parental Leave Pay. Parental Leave Pay will run concurrently with FMLA. In order to pay out Parental Leave Pay, the employee has to be on an approved Leave of Absence and provide proof of birth. Proof of birth documentation can be in the form of a birth certificate, mother’s copy of the birth certificate that the hospital provides, or a letter from the hospital on letterhead that contains the employee’s name, baby’s name, and baby’s date of birth.
For Adoptions and Foster Care placements, please reach out directly to the Leave Department to obtain further information on the appropriate documentation.
PTO/Sick/Vacation Time
Employees will be required to exhaust all currently available PTO, sick, or vacation time while out on an approved leave of absence, if no other paid leave of absence options are available through the company or state. This time will be exhausted before going out on an unpaid leave of absence.
